As part of our system upgrade, all customers are now seeing a new search screen that allows more detailed searches for probate records. You can now do an "either" search which allows you to search for a person as either grantor or grantee. You can also limit your search by date range or legal description. You can also limit a search by 2d party -- for example, if you search by grantor "Smith Jack" and only want to see results where the grantee is "Jones H", then you check Grantor search, enter "Smith Jack" in Grantor and "Jones H" in Grantee. We hope these new features are helpful.

For those who have been inquiring, we officially received word from Freda Roberts today that the annual update data should be ready in a couple of weeks. She said that if she furnished the data now, it would not be the most complete possible, and therefore suggested that we hold off until she finishes her update. We will keep you advised. It has always been our goal to furnish the most current data possible in our annual update of the Mobile County Tax Assessment records. Thanks for your patience as we try to furnish the new data with new reappraisal information.

On-Line's Baldwin County Internet access service for Probate records and tax assessment records is now officially operational.

On-Line will change the familiar search screen very soon. The new screen will make the system easier to use. It will also offer several new search option. You will be able to do an "either" grantor/grantee search, which will allow you to get results showing your selected party whether he is the grantor or the grantee in the transaction. We will also search limitations by date, legal description, or name of second party. Many of you have requested these additional features. Watch for more details soon.

On-Line will be debuting the new Baldwin County access system this month.
All updating procedures are now being finalized with the County data processing office.The new system will include a very thorough Tax Assessment database, which is updated monthly. The data includes street addresses on many parcels, along with full building detail, a transaction reference, and payment records.
The new Probate Court property index contains data from 1986 to present, and will be updated daily. The system will also include online access to imaged documents from January 1, 1998. These will also be made available daily.

On-Line currently has on order the annual update of the Mobile County Tax Assessment information. We have delayed the annual update this year in order to make certain that we got the reappraisal information in this year's update. If we had not delayed, it would have been next year before we had the reappraisal information. On-Line thanks its Mobile customers for their patience, and we expect the new information to be online shortly.
